Alexandros is a charismatic and passionate trainer that has dedicated himself to the Functional Patterns training methodology. Working with people from severe scoliosis to high level athletes, he is devoted to continually helping his clients move and function pain free.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Alexandros grew up playing a myriad of sports. “Sports were fitness to me. Despite being very overweight growing up, it never stopped me from playing sports. I never had an affinity to lifting weights as I would always get hurt when I tried. I figured sports were better until I dislocated my shoulder. Six dislocations later, my labrum was completely torn and my shoulder ball chipped. I ended up getting major surgery at 17 years old to repair my shoulder. Three years later, I completely blew out my knee. ACL, MCL, & a partial meniscus tear left me on crutches at my college graduation as I had just undergone my second major surgery. I spiraled into a severe depression, not really knowing where to go with my life from there. It was a dark time for me. I always enjoyed helping people, and loved moving my body, so I figured a Physical Therapy career was the path for me.”
After graduating from SUNY Buffalo with a Bachelor in Health and Human Services Alexandros went on to work as an aid/trainer for 6 years at multiple physical therapy locations all over Manhattan, New York where he studied anatomy and physiology extensively.
Despite working and being educated by some of the top physical therapists in NYC, Alexandros still suffered from knee/shoulder pain and limited mobility from the surgeries.
“I never thought I would be able to play basketball consistently again, and I love basketball. I honestly felt like an old man.”
Stumbling upon Naudi Aguilar on Facebook ads, Alexandros went into a deep dive on Functional Patterns and ended up purchasing the 10-week online course.
“That course changed my life. It got me out of pain completely and changed the way I thought about the human body and fitness in general.”
Alexandros eventually went to attend the last Human Foundations course taught by Naudi Aguilar and returned to NYC with a new mindset on health and fitness. Alexandros quit his job in physical therapy and continued learning and practicing FP techniques and lifestyle behaviors to better his health. Alexandros is now one of the highest level practitioners available and has transitioned to living in Los Angeles, California full time. He is now a senior trainer at Functional Patterns Santa Monica and has been exclusively training Functional Patterns for over 6 years now.
“At 30 years old I never thought I would be learning how to wrestle. On top of that I am able to consistently play basketball, train and maintain a heavy work schedule all while being pain free! It safe to say I am feeling better and better as I age. FP truly changed my life and I am forever grateful. It is amazing that I can share the benefits of this system with my clients and continue to help people who never thought they could finally heal and function and live pain free.”
